Minesweeper, Anyone? Hacker Installs Windows 98 on an iPhone 6

As noted by TechCrunch, an experienced Chinese programmer over the weekend posted with an Apple iPhone forum to report string success with installing Windows 98, Microsoft's incremental follow-up the classic Windows 95, onto his iPhone 6.

Apple's cellphone is probably more, uh, sleek compared to the beige PC you used to operate Windows 98; but according to the industrious placer who put it together, the setup remains works.

Of course , not that that will matter to us real people.

It may be an amusing or possibly intriguing idea to dump Apple's new and useful iOS 8 for a generations-old desktop software site, but no one, including our go-to person tinkerer, would ever imagine try to make actual use of a cell phones running software from the Clinton governance.

Raise your hand if you would want a free iphone 4 that can't make a call to reply to text messages. How about an iPhone which unfortunately can't run any apps? Yes, us neither. Besides, the Appstore has plenty of versions of Crawl Solitaire, so you're set on which unfortunately front.

All the same, this type of "proof ture of concept" hacking is well-charted region, as programmers have enjoyed stop desktop operating systems onto pocketable items.

Just last month, a similar brand of retrofitting saw Samsung's Gear Live modified to run Windows 95, with much even more difficult results, of course. And, in a more practical use case, Android smart phones, known for their software versatility, have been reconfigured to run Linux, the fan common desktop software among most device programmers.

So , sure, parlor commands of this type might be worth having. But if you want to really change the community, you'll have to figure out a way to get an Android-phone to run a version of System 7 who can also run a version of Sugar Crush and send texts out of iMessage. Also, it should be able to micro wave a Hot Pocket.
